Maintaining Your Cats Claws
Added: 2008-10-15 16:18:45
Any cat owner will tell you that there cat does not like to have its claws trimmed. This is in part due to the method that most people employ, clipping. A much safer and more effective way to maintain your cat’s nails is by grinding them down. A grinder makes pet grooming a snap for any at home pet groomer.

First you need to restrain your cat in your lap. Place your forearm over your cat’s neck and hind end to help keep them in your lap. To expose the claw, gently squeeze the toe between your thumb forefinger. Now use your free hand to grind down the exposed nail with a grinder like the Peticure. Repeat for each claw and before you know it you will be done.

By using a grinder over the old-fashion clippers, your cat will have no chance of experiencing any pain due to cutting of the quick. Tension levels will be much lower as the grooming sessions go on because your cat will begin to realize that pain is not a possibility when it comes time to grind its nails. Just another reason to make the switch now to a grinder for all your pet grooming needs.
