FREE BOOKS GIVEAWAY CENTRAL LONDON
Added: 2008-07-15 12:28:41
Jon Green, author of (Match Wits with the Kids: A Little Learning with All the Family) and the Icon Books team are planning on giving away 500 free copies of Match Wits outside the Department of Children, Schools & Families on Friday 18th July.

Why?
The Children's Plan in December made the point that the Government does not bring children up, parents do. For education to be most effective, parents need to be involved in their kids' education and Ed Balls says its imperative that parents know and understand what their children are learning. But what practical suggestions have they made? And why hasn't the Government thought up a fun way of helping the family learn together?

Jon Green, author of Match Wits, really has!

The school holidays begin on July 22nd and what perfect way to boost your family's IQ, than reading/ playing Match Wits?
It covers all the major subjects - not just literacy and not just maths, but also basic facts that every adult should know, but most have forgotten.

Fingers crossed it doesn't rain on our parade - but come rain or shine, we'll be giving away free copies of Match Wits, wearing Match Wits t-shirts and explaining why this is an important book. Jon will also be giving interviews about his challenge to the Department of Children, Schools & Families - to "Match Wits with the Kids" and help promote a little learning for all the family!

I can pass on pictures of the day to anyone not able to send a photographer. Let me know to expect if anyone is coming.
